4A-GZE into an '86 tercel

What kind of problems should i look for other than carb to efi and tranny probs

if i am going to use the 4agze tranny will i need a custom driveshaft?

how hard would it be to swap out the stock awful shifter with a shifter from another car (CRX AE101?)

i plan on swapping out the swaybar from a 4wd terc and a rear suspension swap from a corrola FX-16 GTS as well as rear disc brakes

i plan on KYB shocks and struts
does anyone offer lowering springs for the 86 (both tercel and fx 16 gts)

what kind of FMI should i look for?

possible turbo options? (way down the road)

any other help anyone can offer would be much appreciated

I think you pretty much answered your own questions.. you just need someone to say "yes" to all of them.

First of all the Tercel and the Trueno/Levin GTZ's are totally different cars so yeah, you will need lots of parts in order to make this motor fit and run on your Tercel. The tercel axles (driveshafts are for RWD aren't they?) will probably snap with the power the GTZ will put down to them.

This is a swap not many people do, so yeah chances are you will need some custom stuff, you will have to find out for yourself.

^^^ actually in his case this may not be true.... it depends on the production date of his tercel, and what engine it has...... the earlier tercels had a 3AC.... yes, A series motors.... and with those, i wouldn't be surprised if they used a C50 as well..... meaning, if he has that, it would be a direct swap (except for building the car with an EFI setup)

i've considered this.... a lot of 4agze power in a not ver much car (like an early 80's hatchback tercel) would make for one fast car....

that guy knows most of his stuff pretty good.... right now he's doing cheap or free labor to get the word of his new shop out..... though, just FYI you can usually do stuff like this yourself, and it's a better idea to do so.... if later you have problems then you know where to start, rather than getting turned down by every mechanic because they usually won't touch a car with a swapped motor and hybrid wiring in it...

being that you are younger like i am (i myself am only 21), i suggest that you do this swap yourself even more.....what's the fun in having a motorswapped car that you didn't do the work? and where does the knowledge of the experience come from if you don't?

well i plan on doing all the work other than the swap
such as the rear suspension and brake swap all new struts/mounts
if i had air tools and a welder and plasma cutter and engine stand and 1" drives yadda yadda yadda i would do the swap @ my EX girlfriends house were the car is staying(like i said i have no space)
if i can find lowering springs i will get those but i cannot find those anywhere so i will probably replace with OE and i will be doign some bodywork as to get rid of rust and awful paint collor to be replaced with none other than primer black YAY.
The car might be gutted or might remain in stock looking form i havent decided yet butim leaning toward gutting it and sweetalking my friends dad into making me a roll cage

anything that i have the resources and knowledge to do will be done by me but i cant help that fact that i dont have an engine hoist...

the car still runs amazingly but needs som TLC (172,xxxmiles)

first swap i did we didn't use an engine stand.... we set the new motor on a cardboard box with the oil pan off... literally..... we had air tools, but didn't use them in the engine bay at all.... only big tool we used was the engine hoist

yes i will primer it black
because black just looks intimidating
but it has some surface rust so it will need a rattle can paintjob anyway its not even worth a maaco paint job

its ugly but for some odd reason i like it
maybe its the fact that if something bad happens who cares. the damn thign is almost older than me

but the first thing i want to do is suspension and brakes of course
damn im excited
