Ticking all the time

I have an 88 AE92 with a 4AGE. 143,000+ miles. Ticking at idle at any temp all the time. Oil level and pressure great. Is it my lifters? Thanks.

My car does that.. never really figured out what it is.. I think its the lifters or the valves that might need adjustment.

serpentine belt or its tensioner or both........or timining belt tensioner........or improrper valve clearance.

If i remember my haynes manual right adjusting the valves isn't the easiest task. Or all that cheap either cause you gotta order bucket shims for each one from the dealer.

true, but if you take it to a mechanic and tell him to use a oste.....(name of tool) he can listen to the valves........won't cost much and he'll tell you if u need adjustments or not.
