AE86 Clutch fluid?
'k, so at some point, i think my slave cylinder might have given out. Now, I'm low on fluid. What kind of fluid am I supposed to use?

i use high temp dot 3 or dot 4 fluid for my brakes and clutch lines..... it's meant for ABS systems.... harder to break down

ABS and non abs brakefluids arent different, they dont break down either. they absorb moisture.

Aaron.. if i'm not mistaken ALL AE86 are the same.

nearly all toyota clutch slave cylinders are the same some have different drain positions or slightly longer push rods but that is about it

Actually, there was a redesign of the part between zenki and kouki. The place where I"m getting the parts from only lists to 1986.5 My car was produced in April 87.

There's a significant difference btw the clutch mc's from zenki and kouki externally. You'll be able to tell if they're selling the part that you need just by looking at them. Go to Migs' site dreamsofdrifting.com and there are pics of both zenki and kouki cmcs.

there is a difference between the master cylinders but the slave cylinders are pretty similar
