I need to put some new speakers in my rolla because one of them doesnt work and the other isnt very far from breaking. What size are they and how do I access them?

I have the '81 Corolla factory service manual at home so PM me if you don't get another reply and remind me to look up the specs. for you. It would also help if I knew what model of Corolla you have as well as any modifications you have to the sound system. Is this the original sound system with just a radio in the dash?

I have 2 speakers in my '81 wagon, located in the kick panels near the driver's and passenger's feet. You have to undo two nuts and pull out a panel plug to remove the panel to get to them. I'd check the wires to see if it really is a bad speaker or just a bad connection. If the latter then the bad news is you might also want to check the connections where the wire goes into the connector at the back of the radio. This is a real pain since it involves removing panel on part of the dash (something like 11 screws) and also removing the radio. I say a pain because I did this recently and the screws that had been sitting for 24 years almost defeated me!
