bypass valve

hey i wanted to get a bypass valve for a cold air intake i boughti don't know the exact size of the intake, my question is if the bypass valve is a little bigger than the intake itself can i just add tighten it or add a reducer? or do i have to get the exact size?

Wait till you get the intake or ask seller what size it is. Adding reducer will disrupt air flow.

Those AEM style things are crap, the test that they did in sport compact car or whatevermagazine it was, it isnt applicable directly in real life. For one, the pipe they used took several 90 deg turns and was VERY long. ...

And unless your intake will be submerged in water.....it's a waste of cash. And don't give me the crap about puddles or water splasing on the filter....

If the intake is submerged, not having a bypass valve would be my last worry.
