Angry need help

ok my alternater went bad on my 1985 corolla sr5. when to auto zone, the one that goes for my car dont fit. all the things hook up right but there is one plug that will not go in. the one that i have is like a T shap but the one that the computer says fits my car is a O. what do i do? i went to other places and they all say the same. its the org. engine in the car and everything. i need this fast. thanks for ur help

They're probably giving you the one for the same car but not for the same motor.. they could be also giving you the one for a FWD 4AC AE82 instead of a RWD 4AC AE85/6.. things like this matter sometimes, manufacturers always change part layouts on the same motors.

most likely he's right,

make sure they are giving u the rear wheel drive one, keep in mind that even tho the fwd version has the same motor but certain little things are different.

go check and tell them you need the alternator for a corolla rear wheel drive, if they don't know what too look for, it's time to leave and find another parts store brotha.

go to your local junkyard, i'm sure they either have many of have an sr5 you can take one from really cheap.

the dud i bought my sr5 from (for $100!!) did this. He found this almost brand new alternator AND radiator both for $45

they did look it up for a rwd corolla. there are no cars like mine in the junk yard. so what can i do now??? thanks for ur help

AutoDiscount, pepboys and autozone either have these or can get a hold of...but it'll be around $100.

i suggest going online and finding one of those junkyard form, fill it up and submit. This things go national and someone will hit you up with the part price and the shipping cost.

From my understanding... Toyota used the same plug in the alternator for a VERY VERY long time. Make sure you're putting it in right...
