I'm new to this Corolla scene. I'm always in the Camry section cuz I have 93 Camry. I might be trading my Camry in cuz its so jacked up now. Its a 2000 Corolla VE w/ only 15k miles for $6000. Are VE models good? What I really want to know is what mods are out there for this model Corolla? I seen the Bomex bodykit for it, it looks pretty sweet. But my concern is performace wise. What aftermarket products are available for this particular make of car?

VE is the luxury modle of the Corolla. I was a bit thrown off by the very low price on the car until I realised thats USD.
As for the mods I'm too lazy to look so I'm just going to list a few links that should sell parts for your car.

http://www.toyota-trd.com/en/index.html

http://www.tomsracing.co.jp/index1.html This one might not have anything but I don't really know cuz I can't read Japanees. Just find a translator page.

http://www.hksusa.com/mycars/default...mp;vid=1359424

http://www.nopionline.com/index.cfm?...YOTA%20Corolla

After the mods you might want some lighter wheels.

ve luxury model????? no no no
ve =base model
ce=intermidiate
le= luxury
s=sport model

in thoses years (1998-2000) you could get the ve model with the touring group
(VE touring) witch as spolier,alu.wheels,185wide rubber,
mud flaps,etc...
anyway there is no bad models in the corolla family :grin: its just that the ve model as less equipment other than that its the same trany and motor as the other models

another thing is that the year (2000)models as the vvti system witch as 5 hp (125)more than the 98-99 models(120) those 2 years did not have the vvti.

hope this helps

yeah for the years 2001 and 2002

but for 98-99-00 there was 4 models ve, ce,le, and s.

for 2001 and 2002 they removed the ve so we are left with the ce (base model for01-02)
le and s

so its true the ce is the base model but just for 01-02

There is a suprising amount of stuff available for the '98+ Corolla; It's just more difficult to find. :wink:

You should come check out the CorollaCustomz board at http://www.xsorbit2.com/users/huac0547/index.cgi. We have a large contingent of '98+ owners across North America who have been modding their cars.

CE is the base model man. I don't even have fold down seats in the back for goodness sakes! hahahha.. I don't even have speakers in the back!
My advice: don't get a 98 corolla.. I've been having problems with myne, and neil has been with his 98.
heh

The '98+ Corolla was (and still is) the most reliable vehicle in its class. I was wondering if it would still be with the new 2003 model, but once again it's #1 according to Consumer Reports, and it even beats the Subaru Impreza 2.5TS in acceleration. :smile:

The 2001/2002 CE comes standard with 60/40 rear folding seats... the S model (oddly enough) does not.

im sorry to ear that but you got fu**ed up the a$$ from 98 to 2002 split 40/60 seats are standard on the CE model even from 2001 and 2002 you most likely have a VE model with a CE bage......

my ae92 and 3 of my freinds sr5 as a rear sway bar but xenon dont have one on is sr5??
maybe it was an option we dont know...

there are some strange things hapening in toyota from time to time!!

Damnnn I got the sh!tty model lol. I'm use to driving in LE versions. O well, as long as I;m driving a new car, I'm happy :smile:. I get my Corolla in 2 weeks. I already have plans for it too, I figure first that I'd get some rims. Thinking of going w/ 17 "white motegi Mr7 cuz its a white car. Then I'll tint it, drop it about 1-2". Not sure which springs I should go w/ yet. I've seen some dropzone springs on ebay for $99. They state that it'll drop 2" front and rear. Anybody have these springs? After I do all that, then I'll start working on the engine.

Hey, Here is a great site for Corolla parts:

http://www.elcmotorsports.com

They are a fairly new site, but they keep coming out with more and more parts(for newer Corollas it seems).
