Hi people, as you can see im new to the forums, im from Caracas, Venezuela, here they sold "different" corollas than in the US i think, they look different for me though, i want to buy a 99 Corolla that comes with a 4A-FE but i dont know the chassis code of the car, heres a pic (http://www.tucarro.com/anuncios/carr...ta/abn-26k.jpg) can someone tell me the chassis code for that corolla model ? it came in 2 flavors, 1.6 4A-FE and 1.8 7A-FE, i want to get the 1.6 with a manual tranny to make a little and just a little performance out of it cuz it will be my daily driver aswel, i currently own a shitty opel corsa sedan, i'm trying to sell it but its a piece of crap... I want to get into Toyota world of fantasy LOL
also, did they sell corollas like the one on the pic in europe ? canada ? US ? i'm just curious... thanks in advance
Ae111...yeah they sold those here in europe, but they also made a facelift model from that..... you know, they make twin-headlight systems for that..... looks alot like a subaru from the front end.
oh yeah they sold those here too, twin head lights one, i used to drive one to school, but it was A/T hehe not a bad car... but M/T > all
what would you suggest for getting some performance out of that 4a-fe with m/t ? i was thinking in intake, header, exhaust (cat-back), maybe some sort of ECU upgrade, bigger injectors and maybe throtle body port and polish, what you think ? let me know please...
what?? 1.8 A/T > 1.6 M/T ? i dont really think so... lol... i think that car is j-spec rather than euro-spec... well, i could also get 1.8 M/T but i have been told 1.6 is a better choice cuz of the weight, and i also have been told that the top hp difference is about 5 hp (110 vs 115) but you get them at a lower rpm.... which engine is better to get performance out of it, 4A-FE or 7A-FE?? anyone has any experience modifying them both ? any comments?
It has more torque than the 4A-FE, auto or manual, due to more displacement. Also, it gets the torque peak at much lower rpm. The tq peak on the 7A-FE is 2800 RPM compared to the 4A-FE's 4500 or so. Anyway, it's hard to make either engine fast without spending a lot of money on a supercharger or something. A sweet thing to do is swap g-heads into the 7A-FE to make a 7A-GE, but that is probably hard to do.
Also the first car I posted is def. European, maybe Australian too, its the next gen of the car you wanna buy.
