Ok i am really new to the toyota seen, I live in Las Vegas, NV USA. I want to buy a AE86 hatch back, I do like initial d and all but I am not one for racing.

I don't know where i could find parts or anything for an AE86 if I bought one, I was thinking maybe i should go with a Corolla GTS since i have seen one or two around. I also have seen a lot more Celica GTS's around, what are the differences? they both have the body style that I want for my car.

Sorry, I don't know much about Toyota cars, but i want to learn =)

Thanks for you input

just goto carpoint.com or something and look them up (although they don't have 1985-87 Corolla GT-S), but at least you can find specs for the Celicas....

they have different engines, different layouts, different car! And although they look similar, a Celica would probably be in better shape...but doesn't matter anyway, buying an old car is troublesome, you should think twice

btw is your real name Spike? or Spike from CowboyBebop?

LOL! My dad can't tell the difference between the two ether.

As for parts are you talking OEM for repair purposes or performance?

It's better than people that can't tell the difference between my car and a 1988 Prelude! It pisses me off..

the old GTS are a good car but one thing you have to consider before buying one is that if it is not in perfect condition when you buy (for example... rust) you will be spending lots of money just fixing that ... money which which could have been spent on mods or cloths or rent....

I actually took my 86 to the body shop this morning for restorations i am replacing the front fenders and rear quarters as well as other miner rust spots here and there.... this will all cost around $3000 and i think i also have to have it repainted. I am not sure how much that is in US dollars but i only paid $3000 can. for my car in the first place

So keep in mind that old cars cost money, and not just for modifications

My buddy and myself had a 1988 Celica GTS and a Corolla GTS respectively. And ignorant ppl use to ask us all the time why we owned the same car. And start talking smack like His n Her's. Didnt help that both cars were white. Well these ppl's opinions would matter if they even knew what the fnck they were talking about. Celica=HATCH, Corolla=Coupe. My other friend's mom saw my red S14 and thought i was driving her son's 1988 red RX7. Women!
