Whats a safe range for a 205/45/16 or a 215/45/16 if I've got coilovers?

Well the rims would be alot wider. I'd say for a 7" wheel something like 30 would be about right. I have 6.5" and an offset of 38 and theres 3mm between the strut and tire in the back.

go with 205/45-16's I believe 215's will rub.. you will need spacers though.. or the inside will also rub. (so you really get no choice when you think about it... )

the tirerack recomends 205/45/16 and a 205/40 for a 17... tho I doubt I'll go with a 17... no spacers, or are you only speaking of the 215/45/16?

Go with 16s so I can see how it turns out!

(Planning to get 16s too, and have no idea what I'll need in terms of spacers, hubcentric rings, etc.)

I'm such a n00b about rims.

I'm prolly going with 16's

You won't need to worry about rubbing the strut or offset or spacers or anything if you buy from a decent shop like discounttiredirect.com or the tirerack.com ...if you need centering rings they throw them in for free too as well as proper lugs.

Awesome. Yea my friend bought from discounttiredirect and he was really happy.

I'm probably gonna also go with 205/45/16. Dunno what rims yet for sure, but probably Hankook Ventus HRII tires. My car isn't dropped and prolly won't be, but hell it won't look too bad considering the diameter will be the same as the stock 185/65/14.

Let me know how it turns out on your car!
