USA Corolla steering vibration

I'm new to the forum. It has some great information.

I have a problem with our 92 Corolla. When driving were feeling a vibration. I've had the wheels balanced and aligned but the mechanic that did the alignment side they couldn’t' get it fully aligned? I was thinking since the car has 127K in it, is there a chance that replacing the struts fix this problem? These are still the original.

Didn't the mechanic that did the alignment tell you the reason why he couldn't get it fully aligned? being that he must have done hundreds of alignments before .....Raddman

I wouldn't worry much about the struts. The vibration could be the alignment. The thrust angle might not be at zero. Go to a reputable wheel alignment shop and have them align it. When it's done and drives properly go back to the old shop who aligned it improperly and ask for a refund. BOTH shops should give you a sheet that tells what the degrees are for the alignment (caster, camber, thrust angle, etc)

I took it to Meineke. I was in and out in a hurry since the wife and I picked it up during our lunch hours. Wife took the car back to work she's the one that said it still had problems. I didn't drive it until last night and it drove just fine. I think the alignment took care of it. She said she took one of the back roads back to work and it still had snow on the ground for our storm last week.

I'll be visiting this page a lot more when I have a problem or question. After reading some threads there are some very knowledgeable folks on here.

Did they give you a sheet indicating the numbers/stats of the alignment? Use that for your next one whenever you'll need it. Glad it's working good now. Drive safely

Yes they did. I filed it in the glove box. I might look into it a little more this weekend. Wife says it's been driving fine.
