Japaneese engines?!?!?!?

Hi dudes..

I am looking for an engine... (4A-FE) for my 1993 toyota corolla.. I heard that japaneese engines are sold in US market.. How reliable is that... and what is the price range.. Did any got that and tried..

Plz let me know where I can get that ..

yea but he would have to change computer and harness and al that jazz wouldnt he ?? id preffer 4A-GE as well but i dunno if he is up for the swap... all the engines seem to be very relaible and price ranges probly from 500-1200 if not more depending on which engine and what you want plus an additional 2-4 hundred bucks to ship the dam thing... check www.ebaymotors.com and search 4afe or 4age and shop around also you can run a search on google and find some importer websites who stock these engines and email them what you would like and they could give you an estimate... for any swap info go to www.club4ag.com or use the search button on here and see what u can find.... or if all else fails make another swap info thread about your project

if not that then why not a 7A-FE? their basically same price more power

For a 4A-FE, just get one from local used engine dealer. You can get a JDM 5A-FE, about same power but 1.5L. 7A-FE is 1.8L. You don't need to change ECU for any of the above.

4A-GE and 4A-GZE is nice for extra power but you'll need ECU and basically a front clip with tranny and all the sensors.

Or justrebuild the old one.

what would be the main purpose of your ride? if it's a daily driver, stick with the 4A-FE, least problems and you cna get it cheaper than the others. But if you are looking at racing your car, then it's a different story...
