2004 Corolla engine rattle when warming up

Hey.

I have a 2004 Corolla that makes a high pitched rattle sound only when warming up the engine. The rattle sound stops when the engine comes down to about 1500 RPM. It also stops when I press the clutch. It doesnt happen right away. It usually starts about 30 seconds after starting the engine. Its not a belt squeaking sound.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I have the same problem on my 03 rolla S that just started this winter...I have an automatic and at cold startup if I don't let it warm up(4-5 min) and put it in drive or reverse I get a rattle sound...once the car is warmed up a little or I put it in park/neutral it goes away...I had a friend look under the hood at cold start-up to see where the rattle was coming from and all he could pinpoint was that it was coming from the passenger side lower belt area..since it only happens when I engage the transmission(drive-reverse) and it goes away for you when you put your clutch in I'm thinking maybe it is something loose near the transmission...my next dealer maintenance I will have them check for any loose bolts or something else loose, it could be anything making the rattle..I really don't think its a serious problem though just a pain in the a$$ to hear....Raddman

Squeaking Belt in a 2005 Corolla LE

i had a squeaking belt in my brand new(45 days old) 05 corolla. had to get the belt and the tensioner replaced. dont know why it happened. now this has made me paranoid to all noises from under the hood. dont know if its a good noise or a bad one. now there is a slight ratttling noise from under the hood but doesnt seem to come from the belt--sounds like its comin from the top part of the engine (probably one of the 4 pipes tht seem to be comin out of the engine). noise starts as soon as i start the car. cld it be tht something is loose ? how can this happen in a brand new car ?
