Corolla 05 Squeaking belt/noise under the hood

i had a squeaking belt in my brand new(45 days old) 05 corolla. had to get the belt and the tensioner replaced. dont know why it happened. now this has made me paranoid to all noises from under the hood. dont know if its a good noise or a bad one. now there is a slight ratttling noise from under the hood but doesnt seem to come from the belt--sounds like its comin from the top part of the engine (probably one of the 4 pipes tht seem to be comin out of the engine). noise starts as soon as i start the car. cld it be tht something is loose ? how can this happen in a brand new car ?

Could be some kind of wire/line/hose came loose and is rattling against the hood. Is the noise still there when the hood is open? If it's coming from inside the engine there is definitely something wrong.

Hey is it a bit of a high pitch rattle? Does it go away once the car warms up? I have the same issue with my 04 Corolla. It doesnt always happen, but the rattle stops when my engine warms up or if I press the clutch.

I havent figured it out. Since it doesnt always happen, I'm thinking of recording it and then bring it to the dealer. I'll play it for them and hopefully they will be able to figure it out.

abeg - I have the same squeak, but mine doesn't go away by pushing the clutch. It seems to only go away progressively as the engine warms up. I'm thinking its the belt tensioner or a squeal from the water pump. The squeak doesn't seem directly tied in with the belt because when I rev the engine a bit, even though the engine may double in rpm the squeak doesn't sound like it quite doubles in frequency. But the squeak does speed up with the engine. Its one of those things that I have a hard time justifying taking to the dealer, because once at the dealer the car is warmed up and the noise is not there.

JyRO, Fayazkm:
Does this problem occur on a regular basis or is it more scattered? For me it is inconsistant. I thought it was the outside temp, so I went out a few days ago when it was 15F and tried starting my car. i opened the hood and began recording the engine as it warmed. didnt happen. Yesterday, was different. I started my engine, it didnt do it. I drove for about 30 minutes into the city and parked. 3 hours later, i started my car and it happened...

I want to give the dealer at least some idea of when it happens or else they will just tell me its nothing. Hopefully, I can record the sound and they will know.

i can't remember the name of the part inside but it is somewhere where the engine oil goes, when its cold it makes noise and as it warms up the sound goes away. for new under warranty cars go to the dealer. for old cars letthe mechanic cheack before the trouble creates more troubles.
