Question Rear suspension

My car desperatly needs new shock absorbers, so I bought a couple. But I'm not all that familiar with cars, but I know my way with mc's..
So, can I with a bit of help change them? Is it very complicated or is it simple? And do I need any special tools for it?
I have a 1989 Corolla GTi.

If you bought new springs too, you'll need a spring compressor to put them on. Nothing else I can think of. It'll take a while though. Go find/buy a Haynes Repair Manual and see what it takes to do it.

The springs are fine, so I'm only changing shockabsorbers for now. I looked for a Haynes manual today, but they didn't have any for Toyotas.
It can't take more than a day, or?

Figured that out, the suspension basics can't be that much different from a bike, right? But, do I need a spring compressor for my old springs and new shocks?
