Coolent Problem

Hi dudes,

I have a problem with coolent.. I filled coolent into my 1993 Corolla three days back and today I found that its below the low level.. I havent used my car from then...

Can any of you tell me the potential problems that might have caused this...

Are there any diagnostic information ...to locate the problems..??

Plz let me know if you know any thing about this ..

thanks..
James..

obviously you are leaking coolAnt. To detect Where is leaking just look at the puddle that forms under the car, its probably your radiator...specially if its the original one ~ old

Or it could have just had some air pockets and the coolant wasn't enough to fill it up. Initially it looked full because of the said air pockets. I would top it off and if you find fresh coolant on the ground, THEN that's a leak. I would also check hoses for tightness, the radiator cap, and if you have, the heater hoses as well.

radiator cap, radiator, hoses, waterpump, the pipe at the back. those are few places to look.
Look around the head gasket.

did you run your car after you filled up the coolant fluid?? because you're either leaking coolant into the motor or you got an external leak.. look for coolant puddles or coolant spots inside your engine bay.

I assume this is the same engine you are having compression problems with? You may have a leaking head gasket. A leaking head gasket could cause a loss of coolant AND low compression. Coolant is actually being burned by the engine during combustion and coming out the exhaust as steam. If there is no obvious leak, then this may be a possiblility. It is also possible that you just didn't fill it up enough. Fill it again and keep an eye on it. Good luck. Regards, Aaron
