1991 Corolla Problems

Okay I tried searching but I didn't quite know what to search for. I have an auto 1991 corolla, and it seems to accelerate really slow and when it hits 50mph, it shakes and drives pretty rough. Also when idling, it sounds really rough and poofy. its like...poopoopoopoopoo.... out of the exhaust. I also get a lot less mpg. Anyone got an idea whats wrong? I already changed plugs, fluids and fuel filter...

Have you tried taking it to a mechanic?? it could be anything man.. but no one would really be able to tell you what it is unless they were looking at it.. hence the reason why a mechanic would be better.

Could be anything from a dead cylinder to blown head gasket, etc...

Sounds like you popped your head gasket. Look for oil in your coolant or coolant in your oil, as it is a dead give-away. You might take the car in to a mechanic and have it checked out. A compression test is probably in order. I wouldn't drive it much until you get it sorted out, otherwise you may have to replace the engine. Regards, Aaron
