I just made an imagestation acount and loaded my pics and blah blah blah,.. you know the rest, so what's the point for me to keep on talking and talking,.. ok, i'll shut up now.
here's the link. Enjoy.
http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291636333
when you see the interior pic,.. don't let the seat bother you, it's the seat COVER what its rip apart,.. I'll buy a new one(someday). Oh, and another thing, the car it is still automatic, I just put in that thing to make it look like a manual,... hopefully, if my brother have time, him and I will put in the manual tranny, It's a tuff job, but somebody has to do it.
OH and ANOTHER thing, I've talk to some friends of my brother's wich they are both Corolla's enthusiast, they told me that a 4 speed manual tranny is better for dragging/launching because the "things" inside (bolts and stuff) are bigger and better- more punishment resistent- more torque... and they also said, if I'm making my automatic into a manual that it will run faster than a stock manual corolla(because I'm keeping the automatic diferential.
So I'm really hoping to see big gains in power when adding up a 4 speed manual tranny and an automatic diferential.
OH OH, one last thing(I promise), what is the engine code/name for the engine that I have???

I see the front mount intercooler,.. do you know anyone that makes turbo kits for my engine??? Those drag racers have money,.. they could just have custom made their own turbo kit.

Hey all,
I have a 1984 Corolla SR5 coupe with 58000 original miles on it. It has a power sunroof, pop up headlights, 5spd, baby supra rims, and is almost, but not quite in perfect shape. Up to now it's been my daily driver while I worked on my mustang, but in looking around the forums I'm wondering if it's not worth working on too. Only things wrong with it are a periodic short in the headlight switch and a recent tendency to pop out of reverse (oooh...bad). Anybody know where to get perf. parts for this old timer or body kits, or anything else. Might be a fun project car.
SR5s are supposed to be the fuel-efficient model, while GT-S is the sportier one
although there are a number of SR5s owners here, everyone else prefers GT-S as a project car, it basically has a more powerful engine, with a better base to build on
if you're really ambitious you can ditch that 4ac and put in a side draft carb'd 4age (DOHC, 16v motor) or something more exotic, like a 4agze (super charged 4age)
and you could swap over more of the corolla gt-s drive train, like the rear end and propeller shaft
the main diference is that the 4ac as 80 hp
and the 4af as 95-100hp
as mr_sinister said you could put a 4ag with an after market carb (because toyota did not produce that engine with carbs)
you would get around 130hp wich is good for such a small car and the sound of that engine is so good
compared to the sound of a screaming school girl that the 4ac produces!!
Well 4A-F has 104hp stock and 4A-FE has 108hp stock, 4A-GE older model has 124hp stock, the newer editions 131hp stock.
Both 4A-F(e) and G(e) can get over 130hp if you know what you're doing. I'm currently planning few tweaks to boost the 4A-F to around 130-140ish, without N2O
