now i don't favor myself as an expert but i know a decent amount about cars more specifically hondas and toyotas. why is it people believe hondas are so much better than toyotas, especially the older models. i mean the 88 corolla gts, levin, trueno all very very fast cars. a 4age engine TURBOCHARGED or not OR EVEN THE 4AGZE SUPERCHARGED would eat up just about any car honda came out with that year or even around that year. as a matter of fact there are at least 4 engines i can name that i can't see a honda engine competing with excluding the nsx of course. ALL OPINIONS AND VIEWS WELCOME, EVEN INSULTS. BUT HEY LETS TRY TO KEEP IT AT A MINIMUM.
"Because who needs turbo when you got VTEC!" its marketing, its been targetted to young people, then the aftermarket parts are generally done for hondas.... I guess thats why they are more popular.
Do you have any evidence to back that up?? Essentially its the same thing..
Its totally different. iVTec is about the same as VVTi, I think or VVTi-L
VTec change valve lift, VVTi change valve timing.
VTec work above a certain RPM, VVTi work at all RPM.

Are you sure?? i thought i-VTEChad valve lift, and normal VTEC is VARIABLE VALVE TIMING TECHNOLOGY is it not??
VVTi does change valve timing for better fuel economy and engine performance, as does VTEC...i dunno maybe im confused...
Wouldn't this make VVT-i-L be the same as i-VTEC and VVTI similar to VTEC??
I never said they were the exact same thing i said, they are similar.

I'm sure VTec is lift only at high RPM. I think i-VTec and VVTi-L is about the same, I-VTec add timing to VTec and VVTi-L add "L"ift to VVTi.
VTec and VVTi have totally different feel of the engine. VTec will "kick" in but VVTi won't. You can adjust VTec RPM but not VVTi. The only similarity is they both work on the cams and add power.
um guys.... the ST 20V doesn't have vvt-i.... just vvt that i know of.... BT got vvt-i, however..... VVT is much like vtec, and comes on at a given rpm (which is why you can use a vtec controller, or a hobbes pressure switch, or a switch on the dash to control it....)
