Get a Haynes Repair Manual from your local library. Or buy one at autozone or amazon.com.

You're probably gonna have to remove the whole door trim. It's not that hard.

No need to dismantle the door.

*Gently* pry off the left speaker grill with a screwdriver. You will see a 10mm bolt in the top left corner. The knee bolster is held up by 4-5 of these. The lower ones are relatively easy to find (must crawl under teh steering wheel). The uppers are hidden behind plastic tabs on either side of the steering column. I think there are some misc. screws to undo also. You may find that your hood opens in the process of placing the knee bolster on the floor. Also take care not to rest it on the brake pedal.

After you've removed the knee bolster, just take off the speaker box and you will finally see your speaker.

The right side is similar. Open the glove compartment to get to the bolts and screws. Undo the screws (such as the ones mounting the latch) first.

If your new speakers dont fit because of the height of the tweeter, you might be able to get enough clearance by cutting the metal cage that the speaker sits behind or by shimming the speaker box. It's a pity that something larger wont fit in there.

Edit: Might be helpful to undo the dimmer swich first. Removing hood release lever can be a bit of a pain, so leave it alone. Also need to put the air duct/hose back in place when re-installing.
