what y'all think of the turnout of that race. xrs' 170 hp camry's 194hp. xrs is lighter, tighter susp. closer gear ratios. camry will walk on xrs after 80 tho my opinion.
The Camry will win. I've seen a stock 4th gen Camry V6 5-speed run flat 15's and an occational high 14 (and I have the videos to prove it sitting on my computer).
The 1MZ has a major torque advantage over the 2ZZ.
hey man, i'd love to see those vids. i saw a gen 4 v6 camry auto at the track running 16.4. disappointing but the driver was a 45 y.o. woman. i spoke to her and asked her if she could really get on it and power launch. she said she'll try. i have a 99 le auto 5sfe. but it'll be quick soon.
XRS is a lot more powerful than you can see on paper. You have to actually see it being driven by a good driver to see how fast it goes. There is a 700 lbs difference between the two cars. I have raced a V6 Avalon XLS with 210 HP and 220 foot lbs of torque. It flew off the line and quickly put on about 3 cars on me. As soon as I hit lift in first, I started gaining back on him and by 4th gear, I had 5 cars on him and I was over 100 mph by then. Stock on stock, the only V6 that I will worry about is the 6 speed manual Accord V6 with 240 HP.

If anyone in Calgary area with a V6 camry wants to race my XRS, you are more than welcome. We can have some fun along the way and we can shoot a video for the curious people. I think that is the only way you will find out what I am talking about.

Avalon is heavier and it only comes in automatic form - it's a low 16 second car. Not a very hard car to beat in a XRS.
Stock vs stock with good drivers - a manual v6 Camry will win every time.
The camry scoots off of the line pretty quick, I'd look for it to win in 1/8 mile. In 1/4 I think the xrs would edge it out with a good driver.

Wrong. I know a guy with an XRS who raced a 1997 Camry V6 and beat him very easily. As for myself, Manual Camry V6 is not faster than an IS 300 5 speed. It has more hp and more torque at the same body weight and I have raced a 5 speed IS300. Like I said before, I can race if someone is willing to.

My gen 4 camry v6 5 speed ran 14.8 at 93 with a cold air and a greddy. Actually the camry manual is just as fast as the is300 manual, those things in a 5 speed usually run low 15's. Nothing against a xrs really nice cars.

1997 Camry i4 auto to v6 auto swap! Built 3.3 3mz/1mz hybrid
This does not imply I lost my race to IS300 5 speed (3 races in total) Although, I love IS300 and the 2JZ in it is simply the best Toyota engine ever built. XRS is really a Celica GT-S with a stronger low end torque. Everything is built with performance as the key objective including the close gear ratios, strong top end power that limits at 8500 rpm. It is built to hang with cars with bigger engines. Ofcourse, I would not think of racing a G35 coupe, Acura TL 6 speed, Altima V6 manual, Maxima 6 speed, 6 speed Accord V6 Coupe since these cars are all built with haul ass power and would get killed by them. Although, this is not to undermine the power of 6 cylinders. Load 4 people up in both cars and the 6 cylinder car will own the 4 banger.

Why not?? I'd love to see what the car can do against cars twice the price!
