Ae92

i found a good ae92 corolla for 850 dollas and am plannng to buy it...

how difficult would it be to swap the 20v blacktop in it???

would that be the best swap for a beginner.??

and also would it be very expensive...i have found a levin front clip for about 1,200 including shipping..would that be the best way to go???

**edit**

and also...i found a 11,00rpm redline blacktop....too expensive though ...but would it be easy to reach that with minor mods???

Ok, Now I've researched this myself since I am considering buying an AE92 myself. In my opinion the best engine for a beginer is the one the car came with. Best to learn how to drive the car before doing anything as drastic as an engine swap. Besides, I don't understand why the bluetop is looked down apon. I mean yeah it isn't as "exotic" as the 20valves, but there's a larger aftermarket and they're very reliable engines even in high performance applications. As for the difficulty for performing a blacktop swap wouldn't be nearly as hard as it would be for the AE86 because the AE92 is FWD like the AE101/111s. You'd just need a good week to do the swap and work out any bugs that may occur like any other swap. Also there is a reason why that 11k RPM unit is so expensive. You can't obtain that through a new computer or other simple bolt ons. Thats all TRD tuning there. Otherwise every enthusiest out there would be running high rev units. At most you get 9k rpms out of the box and just about every performance part out there is exspensive. My recomendation is to build up that bluetop/redtop 4AG (assuming you found a GT-S and not an SR5) as you learn or if you really want power that badly find yourself a 4AGZ (the supercharged version of the redtop).

yeah i was thinking 4agze......but im probably gonna stick to a redtop and put individual throttles.....i prefer the redtop over all but i LOVE the throttle sound and i know throttle bodies can cost as much or more than a engine swap lol

Notice how those are only the motors.. not the motor, ecu, wiring harness, etc.. just the motor.

And the AE111 levin clip is an automatic... good if you have an automatic car, not standard.

It also says they got a Celica 4AGZE??? wtf???
