Since Friday my Corolla hasn't been starting. The battery died on me so I replaced it but that didn't seem to make the car start... So I saw that my tank was close to empty so I got a gass can and put in some fule but still my car didn't start.
When I try and start my car I hear the starter but that's all that happens. But some times it seems like the car is about to start and begins to rev only to die imidietly...
My spark plugs are only 3 years old, I got new wires a few months ago and my batter is new. Any ideas?
Try some gasline antifreeze. You shouldn't let it get that low in the winter. There is usually more water in the tank and it gets more concentrated as the tank nears empty, thus freezing the lines.
does the cold start jet work?
gasoline antifreeze is not that much for the gas lines, rather it helps avoid carburetor icing, not needed on EFi cars, besides EFi fuel system is under high pressure, it wont ice up that easy.
Ok, sounds like one of two things to me but I could be wrong. When was the last time you replaced your belts? And the other, though it sounds rediculas, try crawling under the car and pound the bottom of your gas tank a few times. If it starts after that then you need a new feul pump.
i love it pound the tank and its a fuel pump , if that dont work, fill it up like most lost souls do, then if that dont work, bring it to me with a big gas can to put the gas from the tank into after i tested the pump and circuit
im not trying to make ya look bad ron, I just have a set way to figure out stuff like this and have seen it all on ways people try to get their car to run, but your pounding the tank is a new one, I am kinda worried about him breaking the baffle in the tank or making the float fall off, lets have him spray a little brake clean in the intake and see if it tries to start or push the stem down in the fuel pressure test port to see if gas squirts out
Hey man, I'm serious about giving the tank a light pound or two. My camry's feul pump was going and I had to do that in order to drive it to my mechanic to drain the tank and replace the pump.
Edit: also whats up with all the double posts? There's a little button at the bottom of your post that says "Edit" that allows you to edit your previous post.
