i wanna convert my car to manual but there is a rumor that the trans will not fix and that i shouldnt even attempt to do it...anyone know if this is true or not?
ive never heard about such a rumour, but it would be alot of work, heres a parts list
-transmission
-clutch pedal/master cyl/lines/slave cyl
-flywheel & clutch
-transmission mounts
-shifter cables
-shifter
-manual ECU
After this i donno what would have to be done to the wiring to make it all work

Basically you just need to bypass the Neutral Start Switch... all of the automatica tranny stuff can be cut.
Yea all those parts will be needed. Yea it will fit. Yea it's cheaper/less work to actually go out and buy a manual Corolla. But yea, if you really want to, do the swap.
Dont forget you also have to replace your plate into a flywheel on the car. The thing is that i know someone thats tryed this and he said it didnt work. He eventually just sold his rolla and bought a first generation MR2... lots more fun!!!!!

There's a rumour going around that it would probably cheaper for you to sell the car and buy one that was already standard in the first place. I think they're serious too.

All of these are true - Exept for the ECU. The ECU's in the 93-97 models are non-transmission specific. they will run both.
It will fit. - Simple as that.

the thing is i cant get all those parts for 200 so its not really cheaper and i want to keep my engine cause its probably one of the best running engines you will find in my year since i just finished rebuilding it about a month ago... anyone have some time of proof that i can know for sure that if i start working on it i wont go into some deep shit and not be able to install it
