i'm trying to hook up a LED to replace my interior dome light, but i need to know which side is positive and which is negative. could someone tell me?

nm, i built a little circuit and figured it out

Borrow a Voltimeter from someone and turn on your dome light with no bulb in there, set up the voltimeter to 20 under volts, put the red stick one side of the socket and ground the black one, if you get a 12 volt reading then that're your positive! If not, then that's your negative and your other one is a positive!
