using oil quickly, no leaks....

I have a 2002 Corolla S, 5-speed. I seem to be burning up oil like crazy. I've checked everywhere and I don't seem to have any leaks. What could be the problem? This has never happened before, just started happening a few months ago.

Is it still under warranty?? I would take it to the dealer if I was you, and get it checked out.

My oil light comes on about once every 5 weeks after refilling. I check the oil and it's very low. One time I checked it, it was dry as a bone!!!

Unfortunately it's not under warranty anymore. Figures after the 3 years is up things start to go wrong with it.

How's the car run? if you would be burning that much oil you would see it in the exhaust for sure, have you ever pulled any plugs to look at them?..It might be a driving leak when the oil is moving around, check all around your engine(valve cover etc.) for oil..your car is fairly new so the engine should be clean and hopefully you can spot the problem area...good luck...Radd Guy

do you let your car warm up (or did you when you got the car new, if you got it new that is) or do you start it up and then red line the piss out of it?
