My 99 Corolla got totalled... pics!

Last week while heading to work, a speeding minivan ran thru a stop sign. My wife was driving and she barely had time to brake. We hit the side of the minivan really hard. The whole front got hit really hard and both airbags deployed.

Since it was the other guys fault the judge ordered him to cover the cost of the repair. (here in Honduras insurance is not required)

Here is how my trusty corolla looked after the accident. Both vehicles were impounded until the case was settled. This is the lot where they took them)

My wife was driving and I was riding shutgun, Thank God we only had minor bruises.

I will postpictures once my car is fully repaired.

BTW, I went to see the car today, they are doing a great job. The right rear view mirror was damaged so they had to buy a replacement. The original one in my car was manual and they got a powered one. I am planning on replacing the left one with a powered one .
Is the wiring harness there already? I took the coin holder off where the power mirror is and saw that the connector for the switch is there.

Hector man.. that looks like a lot of damage.. the frame could be bent.. I would just get another car.. get the other guy to pay for it.

glad you're both ok!! Doesn't look like the car is salvageable tho, the frame could be bent.

I've seen worse being repaired, but unless they really know how to use an autorobot body machine, you wont get the frame straight, looks like the forward is twisted to the side.

Yes the car is being repáired...

here in Honduras they can bring car back to life. Its amazing. I went to see it yesterday ant they already had the new hood and fenders in place. The frame was not as bad as i firts thought. They replaced the radiator support frame.

I will keep you posted.

Wether or not i will keep the car, I will see after the repair is complete. Needless to say, selling is on my mind.... but I just love my corolla.

Yes the shop thought about doing this at first. But it turned out that the frame was only bent after the struts support to the front of the car (i am not sure what it is called) Neither the suspenssion nor the steering of the car was affected.

Good luck getting the car straight, without a proper autorobot and chassis measuring, it can still be a slight banana, not very nice when your car curves to the left.
