I responded to your PM, but here is the info for anyone else wondering...

S/C is definately worth the price. Its just fun to drive now, instant power and the whine it makes is so soothing, haha

gas mileage... on a full tank I lose about 30 miles. Im lazy so you all can do the math, 13 gallon tank right? It does require at least 91 octane fuel so its going to cost you more there.

I would have to say that it is worth it, my friend loves his. He also has the TRD exhaust, which sounds very good too. Check with http://www.toyotaautoparts.com if you decide to get them, they have great prices on S/Cs.

For the even more lazy people:

Let's do the math (for automatics):
38 mpg/highway, 13 gallons is standard. So according to that, you get 494 miles on a full tank of gas (realistically you get less because of aerodynamics like strong winds blowing against your car, etc.).

polo708 says you lose around 30 miles...so with a S/C you get in total 464 miles. Divide by 13 and you get approx. 35.7 miles/gallon. Not bad for a S/C, but it will amount to big bucks if you travel long distances.

And like polo708 stated, minimum 91 octane. If you think about it, and look at gas prices, normally 91 octane compared to 87 is just what...20 cents? (at least where I live anyway)...so let's say you fill on average 10 gallons (I sure never wait till my car run to E to refuel) per each visit to a gas station. By comparison, you fork out another two dollars per refuel. And let's say you refuel once a week (if you drive daily, that's an average I suppose). So each month you lose 8-10 dollars. Per year, you pay 96-120 dollars more on gas.

Well worth 30-40 hp gain (if i'm wrong correct me). But I'm sure you can go other ways of gaining 30-40 hp without forking over $2000+.

Thanks alot guys. Just a couple other question though. I was reading about how you would need water injection if you have an intake on it. If you so then what is a good website to get one oh and also I think I saw something about buying a pulley to increase power. What kind would you recomend and what website. Oh and one last quest. Is it possible to buy a after market fuel rail and fuel pump for an 03 corolla? If so where can I go to get them?

In general, you can get a aftermarket anything if you look hard enough. Specifically, I wouldn't really know.

And why would you need water injection on a intake? First I heard of that.

Yes there's a way to change from an auto to manual. However, many would tell you that it's a lot of work, and you'd have to bolt stuff in places where they shouldn't exist. For the latter, I don't think that's really true...think about it, auto and manual would have the same frame. Sure, mechanicallly they're different, but if you change out the parts, wouldn't the parts locate in the same places as a car that came as a manual?

DIY changing auto-manual would run you $1000 just for parts, at LEAST. Of course, trading it in would get your a manual easily without work, but your car won't be returning the same value as when you bought it.

My suggestion: Even if you have an auto, if you're in daily rush hour traffic, what's the point of a manual? If you're driving a corolla, you probably drive it because it's fun to just drive it around. And IMO auto or manual, the corolla satisfies just that.

Of course, that previous statement doesn't stop me from pumping up my car...even if it's auto, there's still a sense of pride in owning one, you know?

if you are going to run a smaller pulley or an aftermarket intake then I HIGHLY suggest water injection. Your EGT will be very high and will burn out your first cat, not to mention a high chance of knock. Its been researched so far that the 2.4" pulley that is on the blower right now is the perfect size for it, all of your power from there is going to come from computer tuning and the additional injector controller (AIC). As far as the fuel rail and fuel pump, the stock ones should be fine, especially the fuel rail. buy a fuel pressure gauge if you're really worried about it.

AUTO to manual swap... not worth it.

Japan Auto-Manual Swap

Hey, my friend did an auto-manual swap on his Pontiac. It was a lot of work, and he did it all himself, , he was telling me it's like $2,000-$3,000. But he did the work himself. And It's gone down on him a couple times, and I think his 2nd gear doesn't work. So in the end, might not be worth it, hahaha, but everyone is already telling you that.

Before vvti.net shut down, there was a guy who did his auto->manual swap for just about $1000. It should run around that price range. But there have been people who have done it for 5 bills. I hear it's a pretty simple conversion. You aren't really forcing anything to be there that shouldn't be. The shifter assembly fits without reworking much and it's easy to switch in the clutch and new brake pedals.

It is however... A LOT of work.

The guy was gonna do a DIY guide, but he got into a car accident and stuff happened I guess.
