The will to stop

I've knoticed my brakes haven't been working properly the last few days and had gotten really bad while I was driving to day where it seemed like there was no pressure in my pedal at all. After I got home I poped the hood and to what I though there was not a drop of brake fluid in my car!?!

So I guess one of my brake lines have gotten severed or have corroded. I'll have to pick up some brake fluid tomorrow and watch for where the snow under my car turns red.

The thing I found intresting though is that even with out any brake fluid my car was still able to come to a stop... probably because one of my brakes recently partialy siezed up...

Well I knew I was going to probably have to replace my brakes soon but I was hoping that it ccould wait till the spring. I guess not. I wish it could have at least waited till I found a new job.

So any one know any decent brake kits for a decent price (under $1,000)?

Take a look at how much meat your brake pads have left, if its completely used up (REALLY used, barely able to see the friction layer) then your MC reservoir could go way down on fluid level.

Same thing happened to my dad's SR5, brakes somewhat fine, but reservoir almost empty. The brake fluid will take up the clearence caused by the "thinner" pads, there may not be any leaks at all. Install brand new pads and check fluid level again, you may find it full of brake juice again.
