Just bought a '94 Corolla

Bought it as a delivery car. It has some screwed up exhaust, but is otherwise pretty sound. It has 206k miles on it, and I'm wondering if the air filter has EVER been changed. It was almost fuzzy with leaves and such. The poor car has had an interesting life...

Anyway, I had a few questions about it. It looks like, from the numbers scribbled on various parts, that the engine has been replaced with a junkyard special at some point. I'm wondering how hard it would be to just swap a more powerful engine in at some point. It's a base line, 3spd auto. Also, is there some easy way to get brackets for the rear speakers? Because it's got none, never did.

As for the rear speakers, my sisters didn't come w/rear speakers either but the wires were there. so I cut the holes a little bigger and dropped in 6x9's

I still have the brackets from my original speakers outta my 95 rolla, if you want em PM me.

Welcome to the forum.

The Toyota 4AGE line will fit in pretty well, including the 4AGZE. Check them out.

You could also convert the car from auto to manual.

you have many engine options ranging from the 7AFE to the 4AGE variants (16-valve, supercharged, and 20-valve versions). If you're into building stuff, you could go and build a 7AGE (stroked 4AGE) or a 4AGTE (turbo). Another engine option would be to shoehorn a 3SFE or its more powerful brothers, the 3SGE and 3SGTE. Expensive options but they're possible.
