USA 91 Corolla SW- LR Door wont open from outside

I've already searched and Im just curious on what the problem could be. And how should I fix it? I was going to take the whole outside handle off, but I dont want to break anything. So what should I do?

I dont think the door handle is broken, I think it's something inside. what I need to know is how do I take the door handle off. Do I need to take the interior panel off?

When you pull on the handle does it feel real loose like nothing is connected to it? On my moms 89 SR5 the little plastic clip that attaches the handle to the rod broke off.

YES it feels loose from the outside. I already figured out how to take the door panel off, I just need to know how to take the window crank off.

To take the crank off you have to remove the clip behind the handle. I use a flathead screwdriver to pry it off. What I do it bend the handle until i can see the clip and wedge the screwdriver in there to pop off the clip.

this sounds exactly like my celica's door. i had to replace a $3 yellow plastic "claw" (hehe the dealership said it would cost me almost $200 to have them fix it nice to get things done yourself) and i also had to take the door lock thing out and bend the rod back into place, heres a pic, the gold rod with the yellow plastic tip is the one that connects to the outside door handle:
