Speaker Help

I have a 1991 Corolla Sedan, and the speakers I have right now are total crap. I know it has 4" speakers in the front and 5 1/4" in the back, but I was wondering what you guys would recommend as far as what brand or model speakers I should get, if there are any types that don't fit right, etc. Thanks for the help!

looking at prices online it seems to vary greatly from about $30-$200, I'm kinda broke but willing to pay good money for speakers. It would piss me off not having nice stuff, i was looking at infinity kappas mainly...

Go to crutchfield.com, you can put in your car make, model and year, and it will give you every possibility that will fit your car from all manufacturers. They do the same with stereos as well. Very decent prices in my opinion. Hope this helps.

i have a 92 corolla and i installed some infinity 5 1/4 ref's and they sound great except the fronts, im just too damn tired to put those in right now. the only thing is the refs are like the lower end models of infinity. they operate at a lower wattage so dont expect it to sound great with the volume at max. the signal from your deck or any deck at that matter is very distorted and is "dirty" with the volume turned all the way up. but if you have a good head unit like clarion, alpine or eclipse then it shouldnt be an issue. just be sure that the speakers are matched up to the head unit. im sure u already know all that but im just makin sure you dont blow your speakers. but as far as best bang for your buck, i'de say infinity or polk.

I have an 89' Corolla and I have had some speaker problems in the past. I went with Kenwoods. Surprisingly enough they sound great! You do however need a good deck to power them. I have a pioneer DEH-1400 I think. The new model this year... Anyway... Sounds great in my car... Hope it helps.

Yeah my deck is brand-spanking new (JVC, I got that over pioneer cuz circut city had a deal installing that one for free ), so it'll be able to handle those nice speakers, I'm prolly gonna end up going with the infinity kappas in front and back, the large amount over power they can handle is really impressive

I would go with Pioneer if your budget isnt very high. I think by far they make the best cheapest speakers. When i mean cheap, i mean buy them from ebay. I must have gotten 16 pioneers from ebay over the years and every single one was awesome.
