i ordered a 4age silvertop engine for 800 total shipping and evrything. after close speculation i called and changed the order to a 4agze with supercharger and front mount intercoolerfor about 150 more. i wanted to know if anyone had any experiences with the 4agze in a 94 corolla? also i currently have a AT tranny in my car now and the engine comes with a 5 speed tranny attached to it, should i just go full tranny swap or just leave it AT? also if i do do a tranny swap what kind of money am i looking spending at as far as extra parts also what parts would i need (clutch, gearbox, ecu, ......)? what kind of bhp am i looking at?
also an unrelated question can a supercharger have a blow off valve? if so would it make the same distinct sound as when applied with a turbo setup?
Unless you've got a full front clip, you're in for a bit of a dilemma here. Without proper axles, the 5spd that comes with the GZE is useless. However, with the auto, you've got a ton of electrical issues to deal with. If you do find a 5 speed AE102 in the yard for parts, grab the transmission and axles too. Well, I would at least.
And the answer to #2 is Sometimes. If the setup has the SC before the TB, then it'd probably be a good idea to have one. However, on the GZE setup, the TB comes before SC, so there isn't that buildup of boost when you snap the TB closed, and the BOV becomes unnecassary.
thnx. would it be a good idea to just go with the getting axles and evrything? or just go with an AT setup? my only concern is, is it worth the trouble? i mean if changing the tranny will make a big difference in the performance then i'll go with it but if its just a matter of preference between AT and MT then i'll just probably sell the tranny and call it a day.
Change the tranny. If you use the stock transmission computer, it's not going to know that the engine is different. It'll shift early (for the GZE), and cause all sorts of crap to happen.
alright thanks i appreciate it bro. i'll kep ya in mind and let you kno how it turns out when am done. hey do you kno where i can buy some performance fuel injectors?

Are you sure? I don't think that's right. On the TRD superchargers for the 1ZZ, yes, that's correct, but the 4AGZE is setup with the s/c, intercooler, and then TB, if I'm not mistaken.
Right, plus generally you dont see alot of blow-off valves on SC-installs, because the output of the SC goes up and down with RPM, unlike with a turbo, where it still spins X-amount of time after the throttle flap is closed creating boost.
yeah, it's like this..... it doesn't look like it because there is a pipe for an intake that comes up and corners.... so the TB actually faces upwards, almost making it look like it's mounted differently or something.....
