Hello new corolla owner here

Hello i just bought a 92 corolla dx and i decided i want it to have some balls. I want to drop in a new motor but im not too sure which motor i want in it. I dont want to make any mods to my chassis, motor mounts or what not but if the power gains are worth it i will do it. Also i want to beef up the suspension so it handles better. But the thing is i dont want to give up the ride comfort so what would you guys recomend? I heard teins are good but a bit pricey. And also does anyone know the chassis and engine code for this car? Thanks.

you have any pointers on suspension? I've never owned a toyota before. i've had a 87 rx-7 and still own a 97 prelude. but this corolla is completly different. i want to try something other than springs who else makes coil overs for our cars? money is no object.

ohh..i haven't seen coilovers for corolla sedan's i know if i was to do anything i would get new struts and get someone to cut the springs..see money is a huge problem for me..so i always try to do things cheaply..but if you could somehow lower it..put a set of 15" wheels on it..thats the best size i was told for those cars..and a set of 205/50R15 or 215/50R/15...that would improve the handling a lot considering the little dinky 13's on the car now dont do much!! there isn't much more i can say...i know iam waiting to get a set of 15" rims for mine..and i already got new struts all around...and i can feel improvement already just need the wider tires!

Sway bars/stabilizer bars should satisfy your craving for more handling prowess. My dad's Honda runs on stock suspension but has front and rear sway bars. The car handles much better and has more grip.

And in case you have a knocking sound at the rear, take a look at the sway bar bushings.

4AGE
16-valve variants inlcude
big port TVIS
small port
supercharged (4AGZE)

20 valve variants are
silver top (AFM)
black top (MAP)

the engines will pretty much bolt up to your ride.

for suspension, other than the aftermarket stuff you usually find, you could try looking for the superstrut suspension that comes off the JDM Levin GT-Apex, GT-Z, BZ-R. the nice thing about them is that they come with the OEM 2-piston calipers and big discs.

another option would be fitting the 2ETE (SOHC) or 4EFTE (DOHC) 1300cc turbo engine from the starlet. mean little engine, imho.

Forced induction,.... just gave me an idea. Thanks. Im thinkin 15" rims covered with 205/50 tires. Maybe a 4AGZE motor (supercharged right?) and some sway bars, new bushings, nice coil overs,....... what else is there? BEAT gotta have me beat in my beater. yea,....
