95 corolla back lights

ok i need to get to my lights in the back, i have taken them out but the plastic is impossible to take off, what i want to do it take them off and use a clear black spray paint to darken the lights??? any ideas

and other thing would 97 or 96 lights work on my 95, i have heard they wouldnt, some people say the reverse lights are on the trunk........i want to have the clear lights im gettin tired or yellow and red

If your car has a covering lining the trunk panels, they might be covering three screws that hold the taillight assemblies.

no the thing is i can take out the lights just cant seperate the plastic, how do i do it?

melt the glue so you can pry the lense off from the black plastic.
other than that, your only option is to spray-paint from the outside.

yea i was thinking about doing it from the outside, im just wondering if it will look as nice, also if the paint would scratch off after a while
