Had some fun last night on a really open/empty stretch of road, late at night. XRS was up to an indicated speed of 212 kph (132 mph). I was in fifth gear turning 7,800 rpms. Some guy in a 2002 Honda Accord V6 Coupe was eating my dust. I decided to shut it down instead of trying sixth gear. Anyone else had a higher top speed? Car felt rock solid even at this speed and was still climbing. When I slowed to 140 (88) it felt like I was crawling. I love my XRS
The highest I went was up to 195 KM/H ( 122 mph) and on well sealed asphalt, it feels very stable and well controlled and very low to the ground at high speeds. I love the suspension and the way the faster you drive the XRS, the more it squats down and hugs the road. I know a guy who did 135 mph in the XRS, but it does not go above 135 mph. Although, it is very dangerous to get upto those speeds since the safety cage etc. is useless and almost nothing will save the driver.

I'm sure a lot of people may disagree...but I don't feel that speed on an open highway is all that dangerous. Sure, the severity of accident are greatly increased at that speed, but if it is clear sailing...I don't think there is that much of an issue. Take the Autoban for instance. Much greater speeds are reached on that highway every second of every day.
Yeah, you have a point there. As long as it is clean empty stretch road, it is definitely a lot of fun to go so high. Although, it is a very dangerous thing to do.

218K then the fuel cutoff hit....from what I understand if you remove the fuel cutoff you can get it into the 230 mark without a problem.
Just a little bit of info about the autobahn.....when there is a crash.....its big and everyone dies And people in north america arnt smart enough to drive fast.....they change lanes abruptly already doing 100k....immagine if they did that at 200k?
130mph+ and solid as a rock. If you fear the speed don't do it. If you don't fear the speed you are insane!!!!! I love the speed, maybe a little too much. May need to trade the XRS in on an xA! Oh HELL no!
Yeah..I'm not saying that this is an every day occurrence. But when you are alone on a three lane...excellently maintained road....well I can tell you is that it was ALOT of fun. This is not something to be attempted during rush hour. It was actually 1:00 am and there was literally only the honda in my rear view
If I'm not mistaken the Autobahn actually has a lower fatality rate per mile traveled than American Interstates.
There is no fuel cut-off on XRS, just the way its geared doesn't have the tourque to climb past about 220km/hour Tested it my self, and there was a previous post on this.
XRS has v rated tires that are good for 160 mph. Regardless, going above 100 mph is dangerous and any imperfection in the road can result in a big accident.
