Ae92 should i buy

i want your guys opinion.

do u think 2000 USD is too much for a 89 AE92 coupe w/ 4af engine(the carb kind)

its in pretty good condition but have like 140,000 mis on it. right now i just need it as a commuter car and no plans as is to modify the engine, need something reliable. Are there any things i should look for that might pose a problem with this kind of car? how do the engines hold up in the long run? do they last a while? eventually i wanna switch it for a 4agze but not till after i'm done with the camry(swapping in a manual tranny right now in to my coupe to take the abuse from the turbo). What do u guys think? thanx

hmm..

well we don't know what the condition is like so we can't help you on the condition part....

since u said 4af, that means you're getting a SR5, 1989 Corolla SR5? I believe it uses electronic fuel injection, not carbs

and if you want it to be a project car maybe u should invest in a GT-S, it alrdy has a 4age, internals are beefier than the SR5

but anyway, good luck! 8)

smee again!

oh btw if u're using it purely as a commuter car then the SR5 would be a great choice, SR5=high efficiency model, GT-S= Sport model

I bought my 88 GT-S for $2000 canadian certified. Could use a paint job but for 2 grand the thing is a blast to drive. Runs like a top.

the only thing i can say now that i have 232000km when you put it on reverse it tends to pop out of it if your not carefull.
