01 Corolla S gauge cluster

i have an 01 Corolla S and i was thinking, the Red light on the gauge is not really that bright, so is there like a way to put red led bulbs in the cluster in replacement of the OEM bulbs? some of the JDM honda and Nissan community have been replacing their bulbs with blue leds. if there is a way, where can i get the bulbs?

You can change toe color of the bulbs. (i did with my 01 LE at least).

You have to take the gauge out. then take the bulbs out. There bulbs are white, but have colored nipples on them which change the color produced. You have to get new color nipples from pepboys or where ever.

I have not heard about changing to LED's, but I would be interested in doing so.

To take the gauge cluster out, there are 2 phillips screws on the top of the gauge cluter itself. Once you take them out, it should come out. You have to mess with the steering wheel because it the cluster is kinda bulky in the small area. Installation if the same as removal.

You could cut put them in by buying and wiring them in... i am not sure if they make bulbs that you can just switch out, but by just wiring in a new light. You could just soldder and skrink wrap it togethor like you would any other light.

The stock bulbs just twist and come out, and are easy to replace.

I have tried putting in round lens and inverted cone lens LED in my cluster. Both types ended up giving uneven lights.

What color would look best on the cluster thats red? If i were to put the orange nipples/covers (what ever they are called lol "nipples") would it look good? Red+Orange seems to match up pretty good.
