Lets just say you'd be better off just selling your car and finding another one with 5spd transmission.

The guy who did it over at vvti.net did it for 1000 even. And it's been done for 500, and this is for the newer Corollas.

700MAX for your car. Full tranny swap. I bet it would even be less, if you look in the right places. It isn't as much as some people think it is, but it is a bitch to do and work the kinks out of. If you got some Certified Mechanics instead of 2 innovative college students, you'll be way better off. Just be ready for some work.

500 seems decent ..its going to be an issue of mapping out where the cables go (im assuming your switching the whole engine.... and drilling holes re- arranging pedals .. etc.. dont know that much about the engine yet.. but check the tranny mount as well .. while your doing that prob good idea to do a clutch/flywheel upgrade ... chances are you will burn the stock one out...

Go to www.car-part.com to research prices for the following:

Tranny
Clutch Pedal w/ hardware
Slave Cylinder
Shifter
Flywheel

Then you will research elsewhere for the following:

Tranny mount
Clutch & pressure plate
Throwout Bearing
Gear Oil

That's a start...

What you smoking man? you can't even find a decent GZE for under $1500 for $700 maybe the motor and tranny without ECU and a chopped off or no harness.

An auto/manual conversion isn't bad at all *if* you're doing an engine swap at the same time. For example, when I do a swap for someone and they want a conversion done as well, it costs $200 extra for labor and usually only $200 or so for parts. That's not bad at all. But if you're doing it seperately then it's at least a grand, because you have to get in there and remove the tranny, not to mention sourcing and buying the tranny, etc.

I have been outsourcing motors for bunch of people on different automotive forums and trust me when i say that i can get you a complete 4AGZE in Ontario Canada for 600-700 ( somtimes with ECU )
