Couple of places i went to told me that they can't make my exhaust pipe stright .... and i need my exhaust redone because the car is lowered 2" and i have tha 4 links installed ... and they are hitting ....
So i am just wondering if anyone has a stright exhaust on the AE86 and how did they do it ?
I had the same problem as you a while ago. I had a jic catback and had to cut it in 2 places: at the muffler and where it just starts to bend up to go over the axel. All i simply did was find a peice of SS piping and weld it in place of the cut out portion. Also have a joint in the pipe just before it goes under the axel because if you ever jack the car up by the frame then the axel will lower and bend the pipe (depending on size and quality of the pipe).

So you have it going over the rear diff ?
I am looking for someone who has it routed under the diff ....

I think that is removable section .... made to look like it has a catacitic converter .... but i don't think cops will fall for that ( if they are smart ... to know that it needs to be close to exhaust side to work )
yea i have the same issue, i had to cut it right after the cat, but the other day i hit a bump and it crushed the cat so i had to cut it off and well its way to loud now, so i had to take the stock pipe from my other ae86 and put it on, well when i got into the car to start it the rear end smashed the ehaust pipe. there is about 1 1/2 of room between the under body and the rear end, so this coming weekend im goin got hagve towork
There are tons of aftermarket cat-backs for AE86, in the under diff configuration.
Yes when you jack the car the axle housing will come down, crushing the exhuast. You could compensate by using 2 jacks and keep the axle housing from touching the pipe. Or you could get short stroke dampers, the housing might clear the pipe depending on your settings.
see i put the stock exhaust on witch is only 1 5/8 and when i hit a bump it hits the pipe, and im going to put 2 1/2 here this week so i HAVE to go under i guess
