newbie here

Hey my friend just told me about this board so i though i'd check it out. I have a Black 1991 Corolla SR5 with 130,000 kms on it. I have cold Air intake and Exaust done but I don't think I'm going to do much else. I really wanna save up and buy an MR2 for summer and keep the corolla for winter, but does anyone know of any other cheap mods i can to to the corolla?

hi welcome man!

we are now a couple of sr5

it may not be cheap for some people......but understand how your car works handles , and know how to push your car to its limits... and then do mods!

Welcome to TN
it is nice to have another SR5 on board.. Ask away of you need to know anything about this car, I've taken my car apart enough times. I've looked up everything that's available for it, and I know the car very well.. You just need to ask me...

Here's mine:

thanks for the welcome, i've had the corolla since september and i think i've pretty much got the hang of it, my friend got a 5.0 mustang 1 month ago and we raced, he only beat me by 1 car length cuz he didn't know what he was doin, and i like to think i did. Not bad since his engine is 3 times bigger, but anyways xenon thas a nice car i was thinkin of puttin some white rims on my car and i just might now since they look sweet on your ride but i kinda of want somthing i can drive on in winter. Have any of you replaced the sealed beam units for xenon head lights, what did you have to do. And Xenon are those gts ground effects on your car, i was think about lookin for some in a junkyard and sandin them and paintin them and putting them on can do that? and one last thing whats the fastest time you guys have had in your sr5's, sorry for all the questions

The answers to your questions are:

Yes I've replaced my headlight housing with a Eurolite H6 housing it has a clear front glass and Xenon bulbs.

Yes, these are GTS skirts on my car, I figured they're the nicest package I found around for the best price.

If you want to put after-market rims you can always buy steel wheels, or any used wheels and put them on in the winter. That's what I've done..

cool, how much did the lights set you back? Are they standard for most cars with flip up head lights? Cause i broke the parking light on my corolla and it was incredible hard to find that part anywhere, was it difficult to get the parts for the xenon's?

The headlights ween't hard to find, they cost me $80 for a pair and I forgot how much it was for the Xenon bulbs. It's not standard though.
