CV Joint Question

Helllo.......i have an 89 corolla gts....i have known that i've needed cv joints for a while but they were just clicking around corners. Just recently i noticed a pretty loud thudding noise coming from under the car. at first i thought it was my exhaust hitting something but when i looked at it i realized the boot on one of my shafts was completely gone. i was wondering if cv joints from different models of corolla's would fit on my 4-age. I have been looking for a gts in a junk yard for some time and have yet to find one....I have found dx's and le's and other models. so if they fit than that would be great. But if they don't fit than i guess i'll just have to buy new ones. that kinda sucks though cause they are $99 for each side.....and that isn't with the boot. the boots are $10 a piece. If you knwo where i could find some cheaper that would be cool too.

Woah.. how many miles on your car?? I got almost 340,000km on mine (about 215,000miles) and mine are still driving like a champ.

DX and LE's have 4AFE.. I wouldn't go for anything other than the right part for the motor, unless they're the same part. I doubt they are though.

Just go to www.raxles.com, they are well prices and the joints are always new.

The 4AFE units may fit but I'm not sure.

i have 105,000 miles on the car, but i have a jdm motor with approx. 65,000. Thats assuming that the japanese guy that had it before only drove it 40,000 mi before replacing his engine

only difference are that the gts came with a "servceable" axle...... the c50 and c52 use the same axle inboard shafts, and the car has the same hubs (front)

Be careful driving on those bad cvs, I had an 87 caravan that the whole axle locked up on me while driving. Not fun nor safe. Also costs more to fix after they are completly gone...
