AE86 Strut towers...

Has anyone "replaced" the rear strut toweres on the 86 before. Mine are starting to fall apart and i have coilovers on the rear so the strut can rip through the tower any time now .
I just want to know if its been done before?
thx

I had an 86 rolla and hit a nasty construction bump and the back left strut went through the tower..I took it to Sears and they wouldn't replace it unless I had both done(I didn't have the dough for both)..I had some words with the manager and he said If I sign a paper stating I only wanted one done that they would just do the one...I came back later that afternoon and found a $250+ charge waiting for me because they did both of them and the manager was gone for the day..after blowing a fuse and them almost calling the cops, I paid $140 and got both...this was a few years back...Radd Guy

When you got the rear strut towers did they cut out the old strut towers from the body and weld new strut towers in? How is the work holding up?

I am looking for someone to do my drivers side front on an 1982 Te72. In
Vancouver, BC. So far no one who would do the work and offer a decent warranty.
