HELP need help with my 4AGE

Here we go,
Problem #1. rusted pipe ...

Problem #2. Busted stuff ...

Problem #3. Injector plug ...

What are your suggestions on each each problem?

But on the bright side, i get to replace those 15 year old shocks.

Btw, anyone have hookups on sport type springs? Not looking to spend too much

I think it is time for you to buy the bible (Toyota's 1985 Corolla GT-S repair manual) if you don't already got one. Those pics remind me of my first Corolla GT-S. It was such a let down.
Speaking of it where the hell did it go? I was supposed to get it back on the weekend so I could satrt parting it out.

If you want to buy one just e-mail me or something and I'll give you the parts # so you can order one.

Actually, I have the 85 repair manual and it's been fine so far. but i doesn't give any ideas on how to fix broken stuff ... i guess my questions would be this

Problem #1:
-is it still safe to clamp up the hose to whats left there or should i get that whole pipe thing replaced?
Problem #2:
That appears to be some sort of sensor thing (it's located between the firewall and the head. So should I get that replaced? (ie, does anyone have a spare on of those) or would it cost too much and i should try and shimmie those broken bits out and crazy glue it (in a true ghetto fashion)
Problem #3:
-option one would be to try and fix this thing (maybe someone can enlighten me on whether or not i can put it back together or it's just one of those impossible tasks)
-option 2 would be to cut that plug right off, find a good plug from another harness, cut it, solder it, tape it, and forget about it!

Problem #4:
Who's got some sport springs???

I would like a part number for the GTS repair manual. You said 85, but I have an 87... close enough or what?

the '85-87 cars are pretty much all the same ,so get any repair manual you can find for those years..

although i think the '85 manual is the most readily available one, and cheapest, too..

shane, for #1, i'm not sure what that is.. i'll tyr to look at my engine tonight..

#2, try to see if you can order that blue plug thing from toyota, then dig the blue parts out of the vac hoses, and that's that..

#3, is the plastic part of the plug all damaged? can you just pop those connectors back into it? if not, yeah, find another connector.. i have some cut ones, but i'm still in london..

#1 looks like nothing special. i think its just a reinforcing bar. i can't recall there being anything significant like lines or hoses on that side.

#2 is the vacumn hose connectors. can re-order it from toyota or try finding something similar from crappy tire or other automotive part stores

#3 sure that injector can be re wired up proveded you haven't damaged or made non-existent of the ends of the injector. the quicker and easier solution would to find another wiring harness (perhaps in the scrap yard or such) and snip the same connector. then re-attach the connector to the old harness.

That would be awesome ... i think they would be the perfect match for the Tokicos.

Back to problem #1. There was a hose coming out from that rusted part. I tried to losen the hose clamp and it just fell right off. The other end of the hose goes to the bottom of the TB. There are 2 of them there that go into the bottom of the TB ... so I'm guessing it's a feed and return line. The fact that it's rusted leads me to believe that it runs coolant.

Thanks to everyone for their help. It's greatly appreciated!

right....its a return line....i think for either vac pressure or excess oil. in any case, i think plug attached to the block should be able to come off....in other words, i don't think its casted to it.

cmr's AREN't perfect for tokico blues....you need short stroke shocks.

ic ic ... so if not CMR's what would you suggest? I was thinking that the amount they lower the car isn't too much so it would still be ok. My understanding is that it's about 1.6", right? I got some pretty bad reviews from the 4AG guys for intrax springs altho I'm running intrax stuff on my civic and they seem fine. I guess the other 2 i'm considering are Eibach and TRD sport. The TRDs are going to REALLY stretch the budget but if i go up to that price, I guess I can even considering the kg/mm sport/supersport.

I have a 1986 GT-S. The 85 and the 86-87 are the same damn car. Basically minor change in looks. All the important parts are the same. And you can only get the 1985 book any way.

Here is the parts # (Please note that this part # is only for Canada and the U.S.)
No. 36241A

I think it costs around $80 CND with tax. But it will be one of the best investments you can get for your car.

well it depends...if you get the race cmrs (which are the ones i beleive for sale for 175) drop the car more than three inches and are super stiff.

we installed them onto dereks 86 and they dropped the ride a good 3.5 inches and had massive tire rub all way round with 195/50/15

they were also mounted on trd greens

if they are the mild cmr's, that would be okay.

intrax, kg/mm, trd technocraft and cmr race require short stroke shocks.

trd usa, mild cmrs and eibach can be used with normal length stroke shocks.
