xrs computer swap

ok so heres the thing. my 05 xrs hits lift at about 6700 rpm and the 03 & 04 celicas hit it at 6000 and the 04 matrix hits it at around 6200. so my quest is to swap a computer from either a 04 matrix which i will probably try this week, or one from a 04 celica. if anyone has any any info or if anyone has tried or found a way to lower the lift point let me know.

Not the 04 Matrix XRS. 04 XRS had the same 6650 rpm lift engagement as 05. The 03 Matrix XRS and all models of Celica GT-S hit lift at 6200 rpm, but I doubt it will increase any power since it will move the lift engagement at 6200 rpm and automatically would alter the flatter torque curve and reduce the torque at the low end (at 4400 rpm XRS puts out 118 wheel torque while GT-S is putting out around 103-104 ft lbs of wheel torque). Toyota had raised the lift engagement to accomodate more low end torque, but XRS's power climbs crazily in 300 rpm from 6650 rpm to 7000 rpm as seen in the dyn below that the graph is almost vertical during these 300 rpm, which is insane. Look at the dyno comparison of the XRS vs GT-S.

2005 Corolla XRS (left dyno with injen intake)
Peak Power: 162 whp and 118 ft lbs of torque (flatter torque curve with peak torque at 4400 rpm and 6800 rpm)
Lift: 6650 rpm

2000 Celica GT-S (right dyno with bone stock)
Peak Power: 151 whp and 111 ft lbs of torque (Torque peak at 6800 rpm and not as much torque below 6000 rpm)
Lift: 6200 rpm

I would imagine since Lift is entirely dependent on Oil pressure, that there may be more to this than just the ECU. our oil pump may be a new design, to avoid past problem

Oil pressure is not what controls the lift, it's what activates it. The computer is what allows the oil pressure to activate it... the computer opens the valve that lets the oil in, basically.

dont do it.the rolla xrs has more low end torque and ull lose that. someone at matrixowners.com tried and ended up losing 7whp when he tried replacing an 03 trix xrs ecu in his 04
