Newbie bashing: Letter from a Senior

Yes, you...

You were a Newbie too at some point. Don't shit on another ones parade. We should welcome new members, even though they don't know as much as some of us. Let's give this board some class instead of acting like a bunch of know it alls and assholes. Seems like the board has taken an "elite" stance at some point, let's try to be more open in the future.

I've been here almost two years now, used to be known as Corolla90 back in 2001. I may not post much but I read a lot of the comments around here. Let's try to keep it clean.

I have no problem with a lot of newbies, Its the ones who come on and dont read/follow the rules, ask a question that they could find out on there own, or allready know, just so they can be part of the post, or say " Hey I just saw InitialD and man I want an AE so I can be kool like other people" I was a newbie like 2 months ago, but I only asked Q's that I really needed to know. And like I said I have yet to see this ID so I dont fall in there eithor. Your just sour cause you have yet to hit 100 posts so you feel we are picking on you! Besides its all about razing the new guy. If they cant take the heat....

funny....

I've been on this bord since the middle of 2001. I changed my user name back in February 2002. Look at the date under my name. I see your as April 2002.

You know, in any club, you're not decreed as a senior by how often or how loud you talk, but by seniority, the word "senior" says it. So before you assume that I'm complaining because I'm being picked on (far from that), or because you have 207 post and I have 65, you should look upon your own actions and think.

This is suppose to be a club where people share info and ask questions. If you want to beat up on a new one or make yourself higher buy stepping on another's back, go back to primary school man. We're all adults here.

Since you mention it, ironically, I have been here much longer than you. Almost 2 years now. Bragging about post counts is very sad. It's people like you who make this place such a dump sometimes.

Oh well, I guess I should shut up now, me and my measily 65 posts....

I think it's pretty ironic, some of you just want to get as many posts as you can to elevate yourselfs to a certain level of "Cool" (Since you're acting like high schoolers I talk to you like them) to a bunch of people you'll probably never meet- If you spent less time posting and more time actually doing something productive ( God forbid you get off the computer and talk to a girl) You might actually make a couple friends and get a life- and realize no one cares how many posts you have-

- Now don't get me wrong, I'm not ragging on everyone- just the few and the stupid

Ok lets jump back a bit here gentlemen. My mistake, I did not know that you had been here as long as you have, but bashing you was neithor my intention nor my point. Mabey the end of my post was a little personal and I apologise for that. But did you even read the rest of it, or did you just jump to the negative aspect. I just helped some newbie yesterday and he asked a Q that he could have referenced on his own. (about VTEC and VVT-I) But I referenced it for him anyway. You dont sound like a child so I will not spare any tounge... who the hell are you to say that we are wrong in our thoughts about newb's. Its not even about newb's is it? Its about people who just want to be cool, and have no clue as what it really mean to be part of somthing... I think you took this a little to personal which is why I said what I said about you....... anyway, my shift is over, I will continue this sometime when I get home.

(i am canadin commercial comes to mind) ...and yes most of us do meet, every month if im not mistaken... although yes I have yet to make it to a meet or a track-day!

How good of you to help a newbie! i'm so impressed! Seems so hard of an action... That's the difference between you and me, I love helping the new guys out. I don't mind repeating the same thing 20 times over. If this is going to help make a car lover out of a guy, so be it. That makes my day. I'm sure it took you sooooo long to post that link to Bill's page. Rest now. Stop it, you're just sinking deeper man.

This was your answer to him by the way...

so what just because you help a newbie out you have this high sense of righteousness? oh give it up and get off the high high horse.

Like I said, not everyone is here to help, hold hands and breast feed the next poor pathetic f@ck. And if thats the way it is, so be it. it balances out; the ying and yang of 4ag tuning.

hahahahaha...if you actually met brents girlfriend, you wouldn't be saying that sh*t bro......put it this way, BRENT IS AVERY LUCKY MAN....and its not because he has an AE!!!!!

(sorry brent....don't take anything as offensive....it's just your little lady is pretty damn hot and some of these guys don't even know the half!!!)

I used to help newbs. I even would help them find the car they were looking for. I would refrence them to Club 4AG for the answers to all their questions. And do you know what I got in return? Nothing. I don't expect anything and I wasn't wanting anything but what I mean by nothing is they would ignore me. In the end they don't buy the cars I find for them and I never see them again. I help them out and they take it and toss it in the trash and piss on it. I feel like I wasted my time helping most of them. If they don't want to put any effort into it then they can go to hell. All I do now is post the Club 4AG page and telll them to read the entire reference section. If they don't want to do that then I don't think they should be here in the first place. If they really wanted the car they would want to learn about it.

When I was thinking of what car to buy I did reserch on those cars. I tried to learn about them. In the end I found the most information on the AE86. I liked the ideals of the bulk of the drivers of these car and how they tend to like actual performance upgrades as opposed to just making their cars look fast. I found that allot of them worked on their own cars. I learnt allot from the Club 4AG board and I still have allot more to learn about my car.

I think I first saw Initial D 2 or 3 yaers ago. I passed that car off as a POS and didn't think anything of it ever again till last summer when my Uncle bought a 80's RWD Celica GT-S. I thought it was a great car apart from the rust. So why didn't I buy a Celica? Cuz the Corolla wasn't as ugly looking.

I spent 8 months looking for my first GT-S. I bought it for $400. But it never passed safty so I couldent really do much with it. Then a few months later I bought Randy's old GT-S. One thing I did learn about buying GT-S's is they sell really ****en fast.

And I'm glad I got flamed and put down as a newb. If I wasn't kept in line I probably would have kept the wrong idea about certain things. But even when I was a dumb newb I never asked retarted questions like how can I get 200HP (I think 3 people asked that so far) and other varius things.
