is it me, or does to 05 Corolla have a ton of cool features???

i bought a 2005 toyota corolla S in december. it just seems do do some really cool things. it has a passenger airbag detector, the car beeps if the passenger takes seatbelt off then beeps faster and faster, it has a winshielf washer fluid low warning light, the car tells your when u are over due for an oil change by blinking a light on your dash.....it just seems like the car has alot of cool things to offer that arent really a big deal, but just super cool to have. anyone else know anything i missed?

Exactly. Too much technology, less human interaction. Whatever happened to the human touch? Needless to say, I could live without those. The more unnecessary things, the more stuff to break down. Just my .02 Nothing personal

karugs is right on the technology part. personally i find all the little blinking lights and especially the passanger seat belt sound ennoying. I have the '04 corolla and it doesn't have all those little things, and i love it. Keeps me sane and from wasting my time on figuring out how to rip those things out of my car.
the other thing i have that ennoys me like crazy is the DRLs; especially since i have HIDs i have to turn the lights on all the time. I wish i had that switch just like on 850 volvo (don't know if any other cars have that) to turn them off if I wanted to.

But yeah, congrats on your new car. BTW I do love the new tail lights they have on the car.

All Camrys have a switch that goes from OFF to DRL to Parking lights to full headlights. Of course they don't have auto headlights like the LE Corolla does. You win and lose some.


To the original poster's question, I do think it is just you. The Corolla really doesn't have a lot of features compared to others. There are tons of features we have come to expect in cars in this price range that are missing. Heck, my 05 LE doesn't even have a tinted portion on the top of the windshield, like every other car I've owned since I was 16. My 1987 car had TONS of features missing in the Corolla.

What the Corolla does have, is good reliability, good resale value, and cheap insurance. All of those are worth real $ while sometimes the other features aren't.

EMEX, disable the DRLs. There's a guide up. Simple snip of one wire if you want to do it permanently. Drop a switch if you want to be able to turn it back on.

I wouldn't say everything is neat. The passenger seat belt warming buzzer is certainly annoying. And the airbag on/off for the passenger is quite useless.
