All Camrys have a switch that goes from OFF to DRL to Parking lights to full headlights. Of course they don't have auto headlights like the LE Corolla does. You win and lose some.
To the original poster's question, I do think it is just you. The Corolla really doesn't have a lot of features compared to others. There are tons of features we have come to expect in cars in this price range that are missing. Heck, my 05 LE doesn't even have a tinted portion on the top of the windshield, like every other car I've owned since I was 16. My 1987 car had TONS of features missing in the Corolla.
What the Corolla does have, is good reliability, good resale value, and cheap insurance. All of those are worth real $ while sometimes the other features aren't.
