Toyota Compression Testing??

Hi There..

I want to test the compression of my 1993 Toyota corolla. I got that 2 months back... I got my compression tested from a mechanic the compressions are #1) 130 , #2) 110 , #3) 30 , #4) 130...

It seems that I need to check compression again now.. I got a compression tester from Autozone yesterday..

I am in need of help regarding how to test the compression of my engine..

Please write to me as soon as possible.. as i need to return the compression tester to Autozone by next week.

your answeres are highly apprececiated...

thanks,

New Corollate..

Here is what you do with the 1990 models, the 1993 should be the same:

1) Warm up engine.

2) Remove spark plug wires and all four spark plugs.

3) Disconnect the connectors at the distributor (there should be two of them).

4) Disconnect the cold-start injector connector (on the front of the intake plenum).

5) Thread the tester CAREFULLY into the number one spark plug hole.

6) Crank the engine over for about 3-5 seconds (about ten revolutions) with the gas pedal FLOORED.

7) Record reading on gauge, and repeat for other cylinders.

8) Reconnect all connectors and replace plugs/wires.

Personally, I do this cycle twice and compare the readings to each other. It is not that difficult, and only takes about 1/2 hour if you are doing it for the first time. Let us know what you come up with. Regards, Aaron
