suspension questions.......all corollas

hey a question. what other corolla's suspension will work decent on my ae101. i notice kyb and tokico's are cheap as hell on ebay for the ae86's and ae92's. i see a 4 age would go into my car with little or no problem at all. what about the suspension?

sir, the front springs and shock absorbers of the ae92 and ae101 the ae 111 and the earlier corolla levins(which has shorter struts) are completely identical. they are interchangeable. as for the rear, the ae92s springs and shock mountings are narrower than the ae101s. but you can install the rear shocks and springs of the ae101 into an ae92.

No they arent, the springs on the AE100 are wider atleast in the back, they wont fit AE92 spring perches. I measured them when I was doing my suspension swap. Dont know what happens if you put AE100 shocks, that will the boltholes align properly.

the ae92 ones will fit if they are inserts otherwise you will have to get AE92 springs to match
also AE86 ones will NOT WORK being as the 86 is RWD and has a completely different suspension set up for the rear due to the axle

oh ok. i was planning to throw on my same lowering springs i had on my ae101 now just change the shocks to some tokico hp blues. i just wanted to know if they will fit cuz they have them for an ae92 on ebay for 160 for 4 of them, for an ae101 they are almost 400. big difference in price my friend.

and you guys are all SURE about this before i buy them ?

The front struts for AE92's are cheaper because they're strut cartridge replacements.. the AE101 is a full strut, so of course its gonna be more $$$.

that's just what i said sir. the ae92 rear springs and shocks are much narrower than the ae101 rear springs. so if you want to install the rear springs of the ae101 into the ae92, you have to use the ae101 rear shocks as well. the front shocks and springs are identical.
