1986 4A-LC Oil use & timing

Hello,
I put my rebuilt head back on without touching the lower end. I think I got my timing belt one notch off according to fredk. Anyhow it is running at 10 degrees BTDC and seems to run real good. It is using a lot of oil though! Do you think the early combustion pressure is pushing to much pressure into the crankcase past the old rings? Will going back to 5 degrees BTDC as the sticker shows help any?
Thanks for any help on this one too.

I really havent driven it much yet, but seems like it went from full down to add in a couple hundred miles of short trips. It didn't use half a quart in 3000 miles before the old head gasket went. It seems to have a lot of pressure under the valve cover, but maybe that is normal with these engines. The first time I tried to start it with the valve cover off oil flew all over the place, so I put the cover on to warm it up to set the valves. I had the valves ground, so I suppose if valves were leaky before, there is more pressure in the cylinders now. I was affraid the lower end would give me trouble sooner or later with bad rings, was just hoping it wouldn't be sooner.
I ordered a new PCV valve but the old one seems okay. Unless it has a broken spring in it.
Thanks
